A hardcover edition with brown leather spine and corners, olive green boards and gilt lettering. Illustrated throughout with tissue-guarded plates and text illustrations. There is a black ink inscription on the title page. The spine is rubbed as are the edges. There is a fold-out colour map and facsimile letter at the back of the book. The front pages have come slightly loose from the book but remain intact.

A large 320 page book.

The top edges of the book are gilt-edged and the side and bottom edges are uncut.
